"I decided to look for another source of income to secure a living for my community and my family. I thought about finding another type of job in an industry such as agriculture, mining, or oil, but I saw the richness that we have here in the jungle but never knew how to promote it. In fact, I saw many people were working to destroy the jungle through mining and logging."
"Then in Janauary 2009 my community setup Bartolo of Uchuculin Association, one of its first projects was setting up Akangau Ecotourism Expeditions. Our new agency has greater focus on helping communities. It reflects our new ideas and allows us to share our extensive experience in community tourism."
