Our tours in Tena

Tena the capital of the Napo Province was originally founded by missionary explorers. Tena is also known as the “cinnamon capital” of Ecuador. The River Tena flows through the city and eventually joins up with the River Napo which is the 9th largest tributary to the Amazon River.

We offer tours to various locations around the Tena area, from hiking and camping in the Llanganates National Park to rafting on the River Napo.

With any of our options you can do day and night walks in the jungle, visit beautiful waterfalls, swim in crystal clear lagoons, learn about the flora and fauna, medicinal plants, visit with native families to share meals and learn about traditional craft-making. Night time includes bonfires by the river, and if you choose, it is possible to have a cleansing ritual with a traditional shaman. You can stay with an indigenous family, or stay in one of the traditional cabanas and/or sleep in local caves in hammocks.

Please NOTE the following are sample itineraries in the Tena area. The duration of each tour can be changed or tours can be combined just tell us what you want and we will customise a tour for you.
