"We were very pleased with our trip with Akangau Jungle Expeditions (3 days/3 nights). The first 2 days/2 nights in Serena with Nelson and his family was a smashing experience. We are now traveling for a long time and we did appreciate the professionalism of the guides and the team. When they offer you something they make it! No lies as in some cases you can encounter! Then we spent 1 day/1 night with another guide Monster, we slept in the caves, what an odd night, a great experience!
Thanks to all the team especially to Lisa who was very kind and useful for tips"

"My wife and I wanted to thank you all for the wonderful adventure we had on your tour at Limoncocha Lagoon. Guillermo was a very knowledgeable and patient guide, especially with our poor spanish, and we had a fantastic time. We were especially impressed with the huge ancient trees, the bioluminescent lights at night, and the tree sap that bled red but turned white when rubbed on the skin like a sunscreen. We loved paddling the dugout canoe and the incredible variety of birds and their calls, too. I'm still amazed about digging and planting yuca.
Everyone at the lodge was so friendly and helpful. We will be sharing our pictures and video and recommendations with many friends here."

"My boyfriend and I had a short vacation time this past October, and had been wanting to revisit Ecuador, where we had both stayed in the Sierra region volunteering a couple of years ago. We really wanted the opportunity to experience a jungle tour, and find an area in the jungle that we would want to volunteer in for a future trip.
A friend recommended Akangau expeditions, as they knew that it was important to us to support a small business, preferably native-run. We were very happy with our experience, and would like to encourage others to support this small, Kichwa-run operation. We felt like we had great personal, knowledgeable attention from our guide, the cabanas we stayed in were rustic yet well maintained, the food was delicious, and all of the activities were well planned and enjoyable. We especially enjoyed connecting with the people of the community, and learning to make traditional handicrafts. Nighttime talks by the campfire with our guide were also a highlight. We feel comfortable highly recommending Akangau Expeditions.
We intend to return and spend some time volunteering with the volunteer program that Akangau also runs. As opposed to the international volunteer agency that we went through in the Sierra where we paid thousands to volunteer, and discovered that not much of that money goes to the community- Akangau's program is very inexpensive, and is directly supporting the Kichwa community where it is located. We are greatly looking forward to this experience."
